Espresso Poppers-Caffeinated

These caramels start with our original recipe but cooked a bit longer to develop a deeper caramelization. When the caramel is almost at temperature, we throw in a generous spoonful of Italian espresso powder, stir it up & pour it into the pan to cool. Then it is topped off with espresso salt. These are perfect for a late afternoon kick in the pants when you don't have time for or don't want to drink a cup of coffee.
